Material for highest demands in gear construction.
As the first and currently only open-die forge world-wide, Hammerwerk Erft received certification by Det Norske Veritas for the production of individual three-dimensional forged open-die forgings for manufacturing pinion shafts and wheels in high-grade quality.
This material has following advantages:
- high degree of purity
- optimal isotropy
- high core hardness at guaranteed impact notch energy
Guaranteed values according to SPA-16 page 2.
The intensive development and complex certification inspections were successfully concluded on 08.11.2002 with the "SPECIAL PROCESS APPROVAL" and the extension of the manufacturer approval "CLEAN STEEL" by DET NORSKE VERITAS.
